What I'm about ...or, how do I get there from here?

Odd title for a first blog post, I know. But if you know me in real life, you know that 'odd' is certainly an applicable title sometimes...

I'm a SAHM to five small children, in a working-out-of-the-home world. I'm a convert to Catholicism from the Deep South, now living in serious Baptist country, Oklahoma. I'm a below-the-knee skirt/dress-wearing, homeschooling, homesteading, happily married woman, in a world that does all it can to destroy modesty, the family, small farms, marriages, and women's true dignity as children of God.

Some folks would regard a first blog post as an opportunity to set an agenda for their blog, a mission statement, as it were. But since this blog will be about every thing, and yet, nothing (boy, it sounds like my blog is a conservative, bloggers equivalent to a Seinfeld episode, lol), well, folks, I guess the best that I can say is that in the end, I don't know where this blog will go over time, or where it will end...but, God willing, I know where I'll be going...and perhaps, that is what this will be...a partial road map on how to get there from here...starting today, starting now...how do I get to the point of the eternal "YES!" to God...how do I bow myself before Him, the Creator of all things, and yet stand proudly, as His adopted, much loved child...

A winding road, I am sure..but I am hoping at least a few people will hang on for the ride with me, conversing with me, and sharing the journey...a little laughing, a little crying, I'm sure a little headshaking...sharing prayers, joys, sorrows, and the occasional idea...

So, everyone (although I doubt anyone is reading this right now, today, maybe someone will read the archives eventually!), hang on to your hats...cause I think we're off....
